Hide Excel Worksheets

Have you ever created an absolutely beautiful Excel Workbook that needs to be shared? Well, it's beautiful except for that one worksheet that contains all the data.

That one, not so pretty, but the data on it feeds all the others so it's a necessity… but don't you wish you could just hide it?

You know, like when you were a kid and had to clean your room? Shove it under the bed or in the closet just make sure that the room looks nice.

Basically, that's the idea today. We're going to look at a way to "shove the not-so-pretty worksheet under the bed".

To put it in more Excel appropriate terms we're going to hide the worksheet so that casual users will only see the parts they were meant to view.

Here's all you need to know.

Start with a right-click on the tab of the worksheet to be hidden.

Choose Hide from the menu.

Poof! The worksheet is gone from view essentially cleaning up the view.

When it comes time to edit the data again you'll need to unhide the worksheet. To accomplish this step begin with a right-click on any sheet tab.

Choose Unhide from the menu.

When the Unhide dialog box opens select the worksheet you need and click OK.

That's all there is to it. You can clean up your Excel workbooks with just a few clicks…

Too bad cleaning the house isn't as easy as a right-click!
